Presentations to the Second Stakeholders Meeting on COIA, Ottawa, 21-22 November 2011

In November, international stakeholders from developing countries and donor governments, multilateral organizations, civil society and the private sector met in Ottawa, Canada, to discuss taking forward the recommendations of the Commission on Information and Accountability for Women's and Children's Health. Discussions were guided by the common strategic Workplan. (Read the meeting report.)

The meeting involved sessions focusing on specific country and global actions to improve monitoring of results and resources for women's and children's health in the 75 countries of the Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health. Discussions in the parallel sessions were informed by background papers that provided a situational assessment, in terms of current initiatives and coordination mechanisms, and outlined main activities required in order to meet specific targets and objectives related to the areas being discussed.
